If you weren’t at the NAR MidYear Meetings last week in DC, you missed a great session.
2008 NAR President-Elect Charles McMillan and Chief Economist Lawrence Yun provided Midyear Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo attendees with news on the housing market and when we can expect a recovery. Watch the Midyear Housing Market Update Video Watch the video >

This is an excellent video for those who are considering entering the wonderful world of weblogging. They answer many basic questions, including; How/Where do I get started? How much time does it take? How often do you post articles? And get into some more advanced questions like - Should I keep my blog separate from my brokerage site? How do you handle inappropriate comments? To host or not to host the blog yourself?
Westgate Living is giving a tour of their new urban properties, The Majestic, TODAY from 6-8pm (sorry about the short notice). They will be providing food, drinks and entertainment.
This Glendale, AZ residential development has properties ranging from $400k to $2 million. Whether you can make the tour tonight or not, if your area of expertise is the westside you should make it a point to check out this high-end development. Their sales office is located at the Westgate City Center and is open daily.
has opened the doors to it’s Phoenix, AZ sales office and is currently accepting reservations for Phase One. Their office (SW corner of Deer Valley and 56th St) is also open daily, but they plan on giving REALTORS® a special tour Tuesday, May 13th at 10am.
If you specialize in the northeast valley, make it a point to be there on Tuesday. I hear the tour should last about an hour. (Be sure to check out the impressive scale model.)
5/8 UPDATE: If you plan on attending May 13th, please RSVP: Trudy Hammond (480) 355-0202
Are you in real estate? Can you be in Scottsdale on Friday? If the answer is yes to both questions, you should plan on attending SAAR’s Technology Symposium.
A friend of mine just forwarded me a great clip off youtube (which you can view below) about a real estate agent with a unique marketing plan. Surveys indicate that many real estate agents don’t make it in this business because they can’t come to terms with being a “salesperson”. Of course, if you have internal hang-ups about being a sales person and you make it big in sales, there goes all your self-esteem. Well, here’s a real estate agent that actually stands on street corners with a sign saying “I will work hard for you” touting the opportunities in his particular market. While some real estate agents sit around wondering what kinds of mail will create a response, this guy isn’t afraid to put himself on the line. He appears to be actually proud to be in sales and actually proud of his product. What a great idea, don’t sit and worry about your demeanor or materials being too “salezy”, get out there and explain to people what you can do for them and how it will benefit them. Most real estate agents can’t even be motivated to knock on doors! This guy makes door knocking look down right attractive. This must be the sales equivalent of Extreme Sports!
I gotta start off by saying Max Pigman (VP of REALTOR.com) and Dave Beson (National speaker and author of LetterWriter) are excellent presenters. Max did a great job of presenting the REALTOR.com enhanced stuff and Dave Beson is hilarious with his different gestures and voices.
The presentation was held at the Westin Hotel where I got to sit next to a few John Hall agents and saw others around the room. The total number of attendees was 312.
Just in case you’re interested, here are some of the slides from Max’s presentation. There are some good numbers in there about internet consumers.
Here are some of the websites they mentioned… Digital Photography-

Recently we have had several reports of violations regarding the Subdivision field in the MLS listings. Specifically, the lion share of the reports have been regarding the Las Sendas community, but the following information does apply to every community and subdivision.
The ARMLS User Sheet for Property Types 1 and 2 (Residential and Residential Rental) both state:
