When is the deadline for NAR’s ethics requirement?

May 29, 2008

Well, the deadline for the Quadrennial REALTOR® Ethics Training is December 31, 2008.  However, you might not be included in this cycle.

This cycle affects all REALTORS® that got into the business before January 1, 2005.    For those that became REALTORS® more recent than 1/1/05, you have already taken the course.  (UPDATE: There are exceptions to the rule.  We recommend double-checking with your Association.)  New REALTORS® are given 60 day provisional license membership (thanks @dscherer) that requires they take the ethics class before receiving an active license.  Once they show their Association proof of attendance, their provisional license is automatically switched.

If you are in the more seasoned group and haven’t met the requirement, NAR offers an online class.  For those that aren’t sure if you have taken a class or not, call your Association and they be able to tell you.

If you are a member of the Phoenix Association of REALTORS®, you can check online.  Also, PAR members should be aware they plan on printing the names in their monthly publication of all the REALTORS® who have not met the requirement by July 1, 2008.

Where in the world is Jim Sexton?

December 31, 2007

Okay - this just in!  Check out the January 2008 issue of Phoenix REALTOR® Forum (a publication of the Phoenix Association of REALTORS®).  Page 6 you will find a picture of Jim Sexton speaking with Nate Martinez (2008 PAR President)

It doesn’t appear they have this issue posted online quite yet - so you’ll have to look for him in your hard copy.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
